Nancy Mitford

You may have recognized the English writer Nancy Mitford. She lived, found inspiration and died in this rather unobtrusive house in Montreuil neighbourhood. VDP chose the above photo because it was taken by Sir Cecil Beaton...

  14. As a recovering engineer by education, I was not aware of either Nancy Mitford or Sir Cecil Beaton. So thanks for helping to fill in the gaps. (And the gaps are BIG.)

  21. Interesting post, Ciel. I loved her book on Voltaire. My question was going to be, "Could the 'neckline' be any lower? I think not." Gorgeous portrait. I also love seeing where famous people lived or where history happened.
