So... yesterday's courtesan was teaching the public how to correctly bow (men) and curtsy (women)! Only one person 'guessed' but I'm guessing that person knew!
Donc... le courtisan d'hier apprenait au public à faire la révérence ! Seule une personne a "deviné", mot inapproprié puisque la personne savait probablement !
I would never have guessed... and it's so polite we should bring it back pronto.
ReplyDeleteI love it!! Fun captures the past two days!! Always look forward to your posts, Ciel! Hope your week is going well!
ReplyDeleteI love this! If I had been there, I would have volunteered to be taught how to bow. One never knows when a skill like that would be helpful.
ReplyDeleteI remember being taught to curtsy when I was young. We have Royal visits in Canada from time to time, and I saw Queen Elizabeth when she was still a princess, a month before my fifth birthday. I wasn't close enough to be required to curtsy, however.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have guessed, from yesterday's photo, what the courtesan was doing, but it was fun to find out.

I would love to learn to curtsy properly. My only lesson was faraway childhood ballet lessons...and those are hilariously exaggerated 'curtsies'!
ReplyDeleteI would have been the one that would just watch from the back.
ReplyDeleteterrific capture! love the contrasting personna.
ReplyDeleteFranchement, c'est bien trop compliqué pour moi, à cause de mes douleur du nerf sciatique! c'est la catastrophe! Je me sens comme un robot rouillé! :O ui!sans blague!

Ahh, the good old ways!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo.
Preuve que je dois remonter dans le temps et visionner le billet d'hier...
ReplyDeleteNothing like learning from the best, does he show his technique on youtube?
ReplyDeletedarn, i should have know, we learned that in williamsburg!
ReplyDeleteOh that's what you were talking about! I'll pass; would probably strain my back and pull a muscle in my leg. They actually give lessons in this stuff? Amazing!
ReplyDeleteAh! Mystery solved.. and solved so elegantly :)
ReplyDeleteVery elegant, but I am not sure to be flexible enough for this...
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've curtsied since I was a young girl, and that was only from being taught to do so. Never had occasion to do so otherwise.
ReplyDeleteI love Wayne (Woody), whatever's comment!

I'm not sure I would bow or curtsy precisely. I always feel like such a klutz. :)
