Festival of the Solstice: June mid-month theme

Tomorrow is summer solstice. Here are the sun on the golden palace gates (for the sun king) and a June sunset (photo taken last week around 9:30 pm) for the Festival of the Solstice in the City Daily Photo community! To see more takes on the theme, click here! And happy summer to everyone!

Demain c'est le solstice d'été. Voici le soleil sur les grilles dorées du château (pour le roi soleil) et un coucher de soleil de juin (photo prise vers 21 h 30 la semaine dernière) pour le thème de la mi-mois de la communauté des blogueurs City Daily Photo, à savoir le "festival du solstice".     It's kind of a bummer that the very first day of Summer is the longest day, shouldn't it be in, like, August? I like the gates and the sunset is gorgeous.

    Re your question on Cedar Key: Yes, it doth look like a whale, which is rather curious as I don't think there are any whales in the Gulf of Mexico near Cedar Key.

    I remember this beautiful Sun King Ciel, spectacular sunset also. Bravo, beautiful post for the theme. It would have been so nice if Aimee and I had known you before we came to Versailles oui :)
