Sur la Columbia

Hello everyone! This is the view of the mighty Columbia river from Baked Alaska, a delicious restaurant in Astoria, Oregon, where I had the pleasure of meeting Sheryl, a.k.a Tapirgal from Astoria Daily Photo! It was a rainy and cold day on the coast, but it was a warm and delightful moment. Thank you Sheryl for your wonderful welcome! During this trip to the Pacific Northwest, I was also happy to dine with MB again (after last year's first meeting). MB posted a great shot of Saturday's moon, my photo came out terrible so you won't see it! Back to Versailles tomorrow with archive photos until I get back to normal rythm! Hope you are all well!

  13. There was a song Pete Seeger used to sing about the river's hydroelectric generators:

    Roll on, Columbia roll on.
    Roll on, Columbia, roll on.
Your power is turning our darkness to dawn.
So roll on, Columbia, roll on.

But this looks like a dark ocean in the background.

  17. Meeting sister bloggers adds a new dimension to travels, doesn't it? :-) I've been very sporadic in my blogging so I missed your return. Trust you're happily back to home routines... or not? Going back to work can be a shock to one's system...
