Now this car I remember well. It is a Renault 16 and I spent many hours in it being driven back and forth between France and Germany! The car below is a Renault 10 or R10. It was in a R10 that yours truly was driven home from the clinic after her birth!
Hi Ciel ... wonderful old cars with memories. If I lived in France I would love a Citroen DC in pale blue.
ReplyDeleteSome real memories here, eh, Ciel? Renaults were rare in the part of the USA where I lived back then.
ReplyDeleteBTW: Clubbing? Moi? What do you think?
ReplyDeleteWhat interesting memories involving Renaults...I was just wondering, my parents didn't have a vehicle when I was born...so did my Dad peddle me home on his bicycle?!!! Oh dear!
ReplyDeleteFrankreich für mich. Danke für die Erinnerungen. Eine gute Fahrt und einen guten Freitag.
ReplyDeleteOh some moments are meant to be remembered...
ReplyDelete... les souvenirs remontent... des phares rectangulaires.
ReplyDeleteWell then, tie a large pink ribbon around it. I think Renaults were sold in the US decades ago but never caught on. Our buyers were looking for Detroit thunder at the time.
ReplyDeleteI love that silver one. Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteen effet, on prend encore un coup de vieux, j'adore la R16, j'en ai eut une, c’était une voiture très confortable. Bon Weekend
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cars!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your memories!
Léia
My dad had a few French cars, and I had a Renault 12 station wagon (as a student,) the old one, when my dad later bought Audi 100.
ReplyDeleteYes, and before 12, we had just like the one you had a trip in as a newborn baby.
Your posting brought back some old memories!!:)

ReplyDeleteThe Renault 16 was a beautiful car and a forerunner of car design. We had a Renault 11 for years. It took us on many family holidays loaded to the gunnels with camping gear. It was so well used that we had to replace the front seats. It the end I just gave it away as it owed us nothing. A truly memorable car.
ReplyDeleteSur le moment on les trouvait un peu moches et ringardes, et maintenant, la nostalgie aidant, les voila pleines de charme et de souvenirs!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic collection of vintage cars Ciel. I bet your Mum remembers that trip to the clinic clearly!
ReplyDeleteThat's what I like about car shows, you often see something your family owned and it brings back a lot of memories.
ReplyDeleteI remember Renaults fondly also. I had a friend in high school who had one and she would zip around while the rest of us were driving the dreaded Corvair! We thought she was so continental!
ReplyDeleteThese cars are unfamiliar to me other than by name...but I'm glad they bring back good memories for you...well, you probably don't remember being driven home as a new baby, but...
ReplyDeleteI remember the Rs, there are still some R4s around, but my favorite then was the R5! The owners kept these car perfectly...
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool Renault collection!
ReplyDeleteMoi, c' etait une Dauphine... Ca remonte un peu...
ReplyDeleteOh wow what lovely vintage cars.
ReplyDeleteNice memories!
ReplyDeleteClassy from birth ;D
