At the flower market, not only can you see it's autumn, but you also know that 1 November is getting closer as chrysanthemums make their appearance. Traditionally, French graveyards and cemeteries are graced with these flowers on 1 November, Allsaints.
Au marché aux fleurs.
I am always amazed by the variety of colors available. It makes you wonder how they came to be that way.

Nice assortment of colors : )
ReplyDeleteMums are available about one month later in Versailles than in Connecticut. Those are pretty. You confused me with your unusual angle.
ReplyDeleteThe colors are so cheerful.
ReplyDeleteFlowers in Autumn and Spring are premium. Best time of the year and flowers like this on a Sunday are tops Ciel. Hope you are relaxing on this Sunday.
ReplyDeleteI think there are more flower markets per person in France than elsewhere. Maybe flowers pair will with wine and cheese.
ReplyDeleteCette une tradition aussi en Brésil!Le marché aux fleurs augment considérablement!

One of my favorite flowers. I think the French tradition is notable! Can't believe it's almost Nov. 1, though!
ReplyDeleteRe your comment about copying antiques: Very funny! However, I think this store, like so many antique stores, sell other artsy/craftsy items made by individuals and they're afraid someone might steal their ideas! :-)
Is it November just around the corner already? These flowers are gorgeous! Love how there are so many of them bundled up together :D
ReplyDeleteHi Ciel! Re your question about riding Harleys: No! I would love to but Lois Anne has other ideas and I think I'm too damn old, anyway!
ReplyDeleteMe again! Re mail trucks: In some rural and outlying areas, mail carriers must provide their own transportation. Especially if they are "contract" workers (not on a full-time, salaried basis). The PO pays for some of the costs.
ReplyDeleteOur son-in-law in Colorado is a regular employee but had to provide his own transportation and bought a Jeep with right-hand drive - I think he had it shipped from Japan.
Hah! I was in a flower market in HK just a few days ago. Aren't they marvelous!?
ReplyDeleteici, on en met de moins en moins, les gens semblent preferer d'autre fleurs (sais plus le nom, te le chercherai..)
ReplyDeleteFlower markets are always beautiful and interesting, especially in this season...
ReplyDeleteoui, et les cimetières vont refleurir ;(
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful flowers, I like chrysanthemums a lot!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I came by, I suddenly realized we hadn't visited each other in a while. I hope you are having a good season!
