We have almost nothing like these shops. Maybe a handful in New York and Boston. Nothing close here if fly-over country. But then I'll be in France in three weeks.
I love the ribbons and bust. We don't see that style much, if at all. It is impressive that there is so much adornment in a small and simple business like a bakery.
Well I can look at this gorgeous patisserie and not get too upset today Ciel, because I was tres bad today and ate two pastries, oh they were delicious, just like your picture!!
Oooo, yes, I love the face and the interesting play of light and shadow. You caught the sun at just the right angle to reveal the wonderful textures and designs above this bakery.

Etonnante facade avec cette figure decorative. Les bonnes odeurs de la boulangerie doivent monter chez lui.
ReplyDeletei don't think i would be looking up. i'd have my eyes leaping from one treat to another and never notice the treat above the bakery windows.
ReplyDeleteIt is a nice face that goes with the nice balcony and railing.
ReplyDeleteOh, how lovely.

Pretty indeed.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I always want to know about a pretty face is whether or not there is any substance behind it, so I must ask about the food: Is it good?
ReplyDeleteSilly question! I know it's good!

ReplyDeleteI really like the ironwork on the balcony but it looks a little busy with the shutters behind it.
