A manoeuvering lorry on Notre-Dame market place on Sunday afternoon, taking away the stalls...

Après le marché place des Halles Notre-Dame, dimanche, on enlève le matériel...

I marvel at how they can maneuver in small areas.

  2. Somehow I've never given any thought as to how market stalls were put up or taken down, or brought there and then taken away. One of those learning experiences I didn't expect! Very interesting.

  6. We certainly don't see anything like that - the big trailer trucks - at our markets in Asia!

  9. Had a chuckle at Dina's comment. It's true though Ciel, we don't think of the hard work that goes on behind the scenes, I would be a disaster trying to maneuver one of those huge trucks!!

  12. Every thursday there's a market (of no interest at all!) at Carcavelos, next to Oeiras. You should see the mess when it's over!...

  16. @ Kaori: you wait until they do it metre per metre! These photos were taken while I was at the driving wheel, waiting for the manoeuvre to be finished!
