Wednesday Doorway: Le Tribunal de grande instance

This week's doorway is the Tribunal de grande instance or superior court with general jurisdiction for civil matters. The whole building can be seen reflected here.

  1. I like the trees reflected in the glass of this building. The door is not one I would want to pass through, though.

I'll admire it from this side of the glass, thank you very much!

  5. Do you spend much time here? Courtrooms fascinate and repel me at the same time. Maybe I should have been a lawyer?

Looks like a grande building, too, which is appropriate for the "Tribunal de grande instance," right?

You had some fun and funny comments today! Merci!

One can only wish that right will continue to live inside this building.
    Looks friendly to me.
    Please have a good Wednesday.

  8. I like your book idea, but don't short change yourself. I'd be showing the more base side of society probably, and you the more refined. :)

  9. Hey, the civil courts. I had ours on my downtown St. Louis blog today. I suspect that the trees reflected in the glass are more pleasant than what goes on inside.

  13. It's a soft and pretty reflection, even if it is in what you call the ugliest building.

  18. I am wary of tribunals of any sort or grade, but this one looks more like the entrance of a department store, and this is intended like a compliment!

  21. I like the modern look, the symmetry, the shinny glass and steel. You framed this shot nicely to give us a hint of the entire building.

  22. The reflections of the branches of the trees are fascinating to me, just as the the branches of justice are fascinating. When I worked as a court reporter in Tennessee, I remember a sign on one of the columns that said, "when you have the law, you have a friend".
