On attend le printemps bis...

Waiting for spring at Madame Elisabeth's orangerie. This made me feel like I was in a Jane Austen novel!

A l'orangerie de Madame Elisabeth. En prenant cette photo, j'ai eu l'impression furtive d'être dans un roman de Jane Austen !

  1. So, an "orangerie" is a fancy home or building? Looks like spring is springing a little bit. I don't think I get the reference to Jane Austen but I don't think I've read any Jane Austen novels.

Lois Anne has. But she tires of explaining things to me! ;-))

  3. Me again: Re "If pigs could fly..."

The photo is of a painting in a store window in a mall...in the background you see reflections of other stores in the mall. I didn't know how it would turn out, but was very pleased when I saw the result!

And your question on Stone Creek: Tim has, in the back of his golf cart, two long "noodles" made of Styrofoam which people use to keep them afloat in the swimming pool.

  4. Oh, I hope this story had a happy ending, and all the lovers ended up in the right arms in this beautiful place.

  5. We are surrounded by greenhouses here where we live, but they are so prosaic compared with an orangerie in a Jane Austen novel.
Our weather is warming up, but at least one cold spell is due by the weekend, with low temperatures dipping a good 5 degrees Celsius below normal.
Your photo, so hopeful of spring, is very welcome today.

  6. I do see some green in that photo. Maybe spring is indeed coming. I have always thought the word "printemps" evokes the feeling of spring.

  10. I like the perspective...you have a good eye. Very much like a florist would see it.

  14. Pourquoi ? Tu n'as pas été invitée à la party ?
Ou ta robe n'est pas assez belle, tu n'as pas les accessoires ?
Tu as honte de ta conversation ou de ta mère qui veut à tout prix marrier ta soeur aînée ?

Ha, I just finished building a small greenhouse for my wife, but it doesn't look anything like this ;-)

    Nice to see some green.

  26. OH to be in a Jane Austen novel! Lol! I actually just finished a series of books by author Stephanie Barron about the life of Jane Austen. They are all fiction, but she does a MARVELOUS job of capturing what I'm sure Jane was like, and throwing in a murder mystery for the clever Jane to solve, all as I enjoy "living" in Georgian England.
