The closest you will get to a local Flatiron is this kind of building, here at the corner of Avenue de Saint-Cloud and rue de la Paroisse.

Bon, d'accord, rien à voir avec le Flatiron de New York City. Mais bon, c'est au coin de l'Avenue de Saint-Cloud et de la rue de la Paroisse !
I think I've been there! In fact, I think I posted a photo of it on Paree once. Don't ask. When you come from where I came from, anything within 50 kilometers is "Paree"!
ReplyDeleteI like!
Judging by the light, it looks to be a beautiful time of day.
ReplyDeleteI like the evening/morning light and shadows on the row of buildings... Seems a pleasant place to be at ...
ReplyDeleteWow. I love the look of this street. Great shadows from the trees.
ReplyDeleteI love the composition, light/shadows and the city feel:)- Hope you have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful a sight indeed. Feels like a neighbourhood to remain, until one finished writing a book...
ReplyDeletePlease have a good Sunday.

Beautiful shot.
ReplyDeleteI recall there's a couple of triangular buildings in Philly, not quite this elaborate.
ReplyDeleteThe street lights are quite beautiful nestled among the stately trees (that's about the extent of my creative writing ability).
Well, it's wedge-shaped but it's not, um, flat. Beautiful light and dramatic composition - nice photograph.
ReplyDeleteCiel, if you want it to be flat, then it is flat! It is another beautiful streetscape.
ReplyDeleteInteresting angle---so long a street to peer down.

You have a wonderful gift, knowing where to be at the right time of day to get the most from your camera. This is absolutely stunning, almost looks like a great painting. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteAlso, you should consider making calendars, or at least selling your work to calendar publishing companies. I love this as a page in a calendar. This is simply wonderful, worth every moment you spent taking it.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a postcard, Ciel! So beautiful!

PS: Thank you for the comment. I hope Oliver the Frenchman is okay, too :-)
I love the look of flatiron buildings. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeletePlus qu'au Flatiron, ça ressemble incroyablement à une rue d'ici, derrière le port!!je te la photographierai (un jour, quand ma jambe remarchera...soupir..)

So speaking of books, I was thinking you should make a book on all of the charming buildings of Versailles that you've beautifully photographed.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful image, with the lovely soft light and long perspective. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteIt's very interesting and I can see where the name comes from. The lighting is gorgeous in this shot. I agree - make a book!
ReplyDeletedire que dans deux mois je reverrais le vrai ;))) Ahhhhhhhhhhhh
ReplyDeleteA lovely example of perspective and an interesting light.
ReplyDeleteI love the name for these buildings, so descriptive.
ReplyDeleteRe St. Patty's vs. St. Paddy's: Padraig makes sense. In fact, one of the world's great golfers is Padraig Harrington. He's almost as good as I am. ;-)))))
ReplyDeletelove the light and trees reflected. Happy Spring to you ~
ReplyDeleteReally magnificent. There's a very old world feel to this it's so full of rich history and beauty
ReplyDeleteIt's still beautiful. I love all the angles.
ReplyDeleteI want to know what those corner rooms look like. :))

ReplyDeleteUne préférence à ici ; il y a des endroit ou j'aime l'espace .
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this! The somewhat foggy appearance of the edges of the frame, the silence of the street, the regal stature of the building...all of it is a great composition, Ciel.
ReplyDeleteThere is as similar style in downtown Ft. Worth. I like the subtle lighting with the wonderful shadows of the tree branches in this one, Ciel. You did a great job photographing this scene.
