I have never been here or did not know about the garden. I will have to check it out the next time I'm there!!!

ReplyDeleteOne of the things I liked about Paris was the public gardens ... so I think this, too, is a wonderful addition to Versailles. People need green space and a place to sit and rest or meditate!

A pleasant oasis. I like the iron gate. It reminds me a bit of the metal Art Deco entrances to the Metro in Paris.

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed going back to learn a little about the history and finding another architectural find that I had not seen earlier. I could not tell that it boasted a blue door, but some apparently could see that. I learned that it is blue through the comments. 27 comments led me to a picture of Antoinette in blue. I found that intriguing. The convent is very imposing. I cannot imagine what life must have been like for these poor women who had such a small garden to frequent when needed. Life was harsh indeed!
