Step inside the main public library and... well if you're anything like me regarding books, then you'll like it I'm sure! This, incidentally, is not where you take out books, it's merely the collection!
--------------------------------------
Entrez avec moi et... si comme moi vous aimez les livres, vous allez adorer je pense. Evidemment, ceci n'est pas l'endroit où l'on emprunte des livres mais la partie collection !
Wow I love all of the carving and gold leaf!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMy husband just came home with $60 worth of books about France. I don't know when he's going to read them as we'll be in Europe in a month! I think he's getting excited.

Oooh....tres jolie! What a stunning library. I could spend a few hours enjoying that place.
ReplyDeleteWOW! I would LOVE to wander in here. What a lovely place to take photographs. Thank you so much for sharing this, Ciel...I'm loving the tour!
ReplyDeleteIt's so ornate and rich looking. I can just imagine what it smells like too. There is nothing like the smell of a library full of real honest to goodness books.
ReplyDeleteAhh, the smell of leather bindings. I love to read and I love books. Wonderful shot.
ReplyDeleteThis library is breathtaking, Ciel.
ReplyDeleteAnd, yes, the BBQ is a book. Can't you tell?
Now that is a library fit for a king (if, in fact, the king ever cracked a book). The outside does not prepare you for the spectacular interior.
ReplyDeleteWhere to start? I mean, that's a lotta books! I'd need to stop and take some photos too.
ReplyDeletela bibliothèque est impressionnante, et elle fait rêver. En plus l’entrée fait très solennelle , cela doit faire un choc quand on découvre cette pièce
ReplyDeleteThe long arched hallway is stunning... all of it is beautiful and merci for taking us on this tour!
ReplyDeleteBises,
G

A wonderful collection of books, I wonder if they are used though. Did you ever get to Haye on Wye when you were in the UK. A town right up your street.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness that's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI was at the library yesterday. Stanwood library is about the size of my living and dininr rooms combined.
When you were in Seattle did you go to the new library there? I hear it is amazing. MB
I agree with Genie, the first shot composition is magnificent!
ReplyDeleteImagine how many treasures inside this library!

Public library..... ?
ReplyDeleteWOW.
This is like a ROYAL private library.
ELEGANT!
La famille Truffaut (le jardinier, pas le cinéaste) est originaire de Versailles !
ReplyDeleteSais tu qu'elle est la question que l'on pose le plus souvent aux bibliothécaires ?
C'est "Où sont les toilettes ?"
Elegant.
ReplyDeleteYou'd need a tall ladder to browse there.
Beautiful, but somewhat intimidating...
ReplyDeleteJust the sight of it makes my heart beat faster with eager anticipation.
ReplyDeleteOn dirait ma bibli perso ^-^
