Are these policewomen? They appear to be females atop the horses. I think mounted police are a good idea but they must have to be well-trained.
Ocala had some mounted police in the downtown area for awhile; they left. Then they tried cops on Segways or whatever you call 'em, but that didn't last, either.
Finally home. These two look out or place. The police in Costa Rica all had motorcycles or aggressive-looking SUVs. That's okay since they don't have an army.

Chez nous on en a l'été. Ils font moitié police, moitié attraction, mais pour des citadins mal intentionnés, un cheval reste quelque chose d'assez effrayant pour être dissuasif!
Parait-il que les foules s'écartent pour laisser passer les chevaux ce qui n'est pas le cas d'une voiture. Ramasse le crottin pour élever tes champis de Paris et mettre sur tes jardinières ! (Je suis toujours tentée lorsqu'il y a un cirque à Cergy)
Sometimes I wish we could pick a time in history and go there and live our lives back then. I would go back to the time of horses in America. They are beautiful animals and very smart. Your photo is a reminder of those days, for me.

En ville, c'est un peu un gadget, je trouve, mais se faire mettre une prune par la police montée, cela ne manque pas de classe !
