I'm sorry, Ciel, but I'm glad I'm not there now. We're getting a blast of arctic air in the next couple of days which will bring our nighttime temps down into the 20s (f)and I hate it...snow and ice would merely aggravate the situation!
I will admit, however, that your photos are quite attractive and almost make the snow look like fun...the operative word here being "almost."
By the by...9,000 feet is about 1 3/4 miles high. (5,280 feet being equal to one mile).
You must be feeling much better and I hope for you a very nice week ahead!
The top photo makes me thing of a Robert Frost poem that ends the woods are lovely, dark and deep / But I have promises to keep / And miles to go before I sleep / And miles to go before I sleep.
Metric makes all kinds of sense but miles is a much better word than kilometers.
Lovely scenes, Ciel. It is remarkable how many bloggers are talking about snow where they are. But, I have lived in the nortern U.S. for a long time, and my tolerance for cold weather and slippery roads is limited.
Thank you for visiting and leaving a thought! Sorry about the moderation, a bit tired of spam at the moment!

ReplyDeleteCountdown to Christmas! I have always been ambivalent about the snow: I like it for some time but the 'after' is awful!

Et les contre-allées en gadoue.....
ReplyDeleteI think Bob's right, the perfect photograph to accompany Frost's poem. The bottom one reminds me of Cartier-Bresson. Well done.
