Weekend Reflections: le Belvédère

The belvedere (from the Italian 'beautiful view') in queen Marie-Antoinette's domain is reflected for James' Weekend Reflections. It was built by Richard Mique.

  1. Nice reflections. I especially like the windows -- nice.

  2. If you look at the photo upside down, there's something to the left of the door that looks like a large vase that really hard to see in the non-reflected part of the photo. Really cool!

  4. I was so taken by the belvedere that I almost missed the green-on-green reflection. It's totally lovely (the reflection as well as the original). Nice image.

  6. I doubt that most Americans know what belvedere means (or buena vista or whatever). Any view in the palace and grounds is is belle or beau.

  7. What green! Another beautiful shot of a beautiful place. And what would one do in such a cute building?

  13. The greens are soft and lovely. Is the building a reading room or study?
