It's getting late here and when I glanced at the thumbnail I thought it was a beautiful antique laundromat. Someone should make machines that look like this.
I had the same thought as Bob. On the thumbnails I thought that maybe you and Brattcat had gotten together and both decided to post photos from the laundromat on the same day.
And I thought, holy smokes, in Versailles even the laundromats are over-the-top fancy.
I love that blue, it seems to pop up in these great details in Versailles and adds so much to the architecture.
I thought the Bodies show in Phoenix was interesting, but not as educational as I was anticipating. I saw it a couple of years ago, and I don't remember any controversy around it like there is now.
Love the color and the details of the door. Stupid question: does Avenue de Saint-Cloud in Versailles have anything to do with the Porte de Saint-Cloud in Paris?
Re your questions: Yes, I think you could find the backpack (or something similar) at Dick's. It's a huge store with a good selection of items for just about every sport.
I had heard of Moliere - was just spoofing you a bit. Well, sort of. I don't know much about him.
@ VP: Saint Cloud is a former royal city between Paris and Versailles so yes, Avenue de Saint Cloud leads to Saint Cloud as does la porte de Saint Cloud!
"Tire la chevillette, la bobinette cherra", un commentaire pour occuper les anglophones à la traduction. Même moi, je cherche encore à me représenter la scène mentalement.......Chuttt.

c'est l'été, retour au bleu, c'est normal ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautifully intricate and definitely blue.

C'est porte est sublime, ce n'est pas la couleur locale de Versailles.
ReplyDeleteCelle là est splendide! non seulement la couleur mais aussi les decorations, les sculptures, les ferroneries..Une merveille!

ReplyDeleteAgain I say, to be a Blue Paint salesman in Versailles. What a great job.
ReplyDeleteThe color is yummy and the ornate wood working is really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLovely strong picture of some striking doors. Strange how much we like this kind of thing.
ReplyDeleteAnother gated entryway! So bleu. But a very nice bleu; rather unusual, actually. Touch of grey, perhaps?
ReplyDeleteRe your comment on Cedar Key: The "time" factor is up to you, but I figure it's always 5 pm somewhere! :-)

I know the is 'The House of Blue Lights' I think Elvis was there. Maybe it had blue doors too. Great shot. MB
ReplyDeleteOf all your many nice doorways, this has to be among my top few. I love this! I'm sure the brilliant, clear color has something to do with it!
ReplyDeleteClassy and yet a bit intimidating. Interesting. What's behind this doorway?
ReplyDeleteI like the curious carved creatures. :)
ReplyDelete@ Per: a building, probably end of 18th century, now condos, at the time the home of one family.

ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteAll the sepia scenes pics were taken from the Mulilteo Ferry going to Whidbey. The first is looking down toward Seattle---well that way anyway. MB
Your blue doorway portraits are always welcome at Chez la Vache...
ReplyDelete;-D
Just SUPERB!!!:) Beautiful details and color.
ReplyDeleteThe design of this door is so beautiful -i'm imagining it in other colors -with a door like this, I don't think you can go wrong with any color:)
ReplyDeleteA double dose of beautiful blue doors.
