La vue d'ensemble en particulier celle du bas est jolie. On ne voit pas beaucoup de synagogue pourtant les juifs que j'ai croise etaient tres croyants.
Except for the Torah at the top, who would know that the building is a temple? The religion is not assimilated but the architecture is to a great extent.
As already noted, this has so many similarities to a Christian church, except with some striking differences. I wonder what the rose window looks like from inside?
A very attractive building. Oops! I asked you a question but then read the answer in yesterday's post before writing in the word verification. (Sometimes I think before I act.)
Wow! Sorry I am late in arriving. On the Torah scroll is written the Bible quotation "This is the Torah which God gave to Moses." And below it: "And you shall love your neighbor as yourself."

ReplyDeleteThank you for showing us more of the synagogue! I wondered yesterday but didn't ask.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't expecting a rosette. But it's beautiful. I'm curious about the inscription above the arch. Hope
ReplyDeleteDina will help us out. A wonderful building.
Super shots. This is much different than the synagogues I've seen in Florida!
ReplyDeleteThat reminds me that I"ve not found a synagogue in Paris. That would be nice to see. This one is lovely.
