Our computer hard drive crashed this month; then, my camera stopped auto focusing. We've been dealing with technology more than being online. Our bookmarked list of blog friends was lost with the hard drive. Hearing from people like you, Dina, Hilda, Babooshka, etc. is making it easier to establish the old address list!
ReplyDeleteThe bal de Versailles looks fabulous. What are the dates for it? Is it always a certain time of year? Is it open to he public? Sounds like something fun to attend and photograph!!
I think these are so much a part of the fabric of an urban environment.
ReplyDeleteDo you use the work 'kiosk' referring to these booths? I think we do here, even when drinks are not sold. Lisbon had the most beautiful old kiosks, which are (gladly!) being restaured and replaced in their original spots. Thank you, Ciel, you just gave me a great idea!... :-)))

ReplyDeleteThese kiosks are "cool" - I loved them in Paris...of course they sold a lot of junk, but also lots of good stuff...and what the heck, tourists need junk and other stuff to bring home...

ReplyDeleteThere aren't too many news agents like that anymore. Oh, you see them in railroad stations and airports, but not on the street like here.

The Swedish word for this is Tidningskiosk, but the ones in Stockholm are more like big cafe's I think I prefer it your way.
