The first thing anyone driving to Versailles from Paris on road D910 at this time of year will admire is a sea of daffodils on both sides of the avenue!
------------------------------
La première chose que verra le conducteur qui arrive de Paris par la D910 à cette époque de l'année est un océan de jonquilles de part et d'autre de l'avenue !
These daffodils are flowers for Whit who died on Saturday. May he rest in peace and his father find answers and solace.

What a cheerful welcome to Versailles!
ReplyDeleteAw, beautiful flowers for Whit, may he rest in peace and prayers sent to his family.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers. I didn't know Whit but I am sorry for your loss and for his family.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully composed photos, CQ! Colorful, too. A very nice tribute to Whit.
ReplyDeleteYou have, however, re-ignited my urge to go back to Paris/Versailles.
Thanks for explain about daffodils!
ReplyDeleteThese flowers are so nice!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful daffodils for a Sunday morning in Versailles.
ReplyDeleteCondolences to Whit's family and friends. Great photos to memorialize his memory.
ReplyDeleteThat's an immpressive amount of bulbs. Its like the yellow flower road.
ReplyDeleteA lovely means for navigating along the road of life... and onwards. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteFANTASTIC! We are totally jealous of course. What a treat to see them though. Ours will be perhaps even a couple of weeks this year. Longest dullest winter in living memory. Enjoy your beautiful spring colors.
ReplyDeleteIntoxicating images!
ReplyDeleteSuivez la ligne jaune, vous parviendrez au roi Soleil.
ReplyDeleteLumineux homage.
We have daffs galore in Bath, lovely to be greeted by them!
ReplyDeleteHow bright and cheery. It would make me feel happy driving by every day. MB
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! So optimistic!
ReplyDeleteLovely. Must make the time pass quickly.
ReplyDeleteooh la la, spring!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful captues.
ReplyDeleteWowie zowie! That sort of defines abundance. But then, isn't everything in Versailles on a grand scale? My daffs have not liked the past two winters and have thinned themselves (usually I have to do that).
ReplyDeleteI read in Raf's comments that you were to have been in Seattle next week but are staying put. :-( Oh well, I hope another opportunity comes up. Thanks for sharing that amazing and beautiful stretch of road.

I missed the dedication to Whit at the end of your post. Truly April is the cruelest month when such life and abundance are mixed with sorrow and loss. May peace be with you and with Whit's father and those who loved him.

It is an impressive welcoming to Versailles in spring. Condolences to you and Whit's family.
