La boîte à costumes
This lovely, very Versaillais-style mural is fairly recent, though not new! It is, of course, a trompe-l’œil and is located in two gates street, which you had seen lit up for Christmas last year here. All Monday Murals are this way!
Ce charmant trompe-l’œil, relativement récent mais pas nouveau pour autant, est situé rue des deux portes que VDP vous montrait ici illuminée pour Noël l'an dernier. Toutes les fresques du lundi sont par là.
That's great Ciel, I really like the shop front, very clever. I check last years pictures, what a lovely street it looks charming with all the lights...have a good week..
Good thing I opened your blog. I thought it was a mannequin, for sure! P.S. Did you miss my post about Colville Street Patisserie a few days ago? I thought specifically of you when I posted it.
Hi I was there recently on a very hot day, Versailles was very over crowded and the queue to get in was very long, so wandered down to the town which was quite and very quaint and then came across this lovely mural well worth a visit just for this.
Thank you for visiting and leaving a thought! Sorry about the moderation, a bit tired of spam at the moment!
Merci de votre visite très appréciée et de laisser une pensée ! Désolée de devoir modérer vos commentaires, VDP en a un peu marre des spammeurs en ce moment !

ReplyDeleteVery nice to look at.
ReplyDeleteVery nice painted and indeed much more interesting to look at then a blind facade.
ReplyDeleteThese murals really are so nice. I am almost fooled every time you show one. ;-)
ReplyDeletethey look so real!
ReplyDeleteI really lo==like trompe-l’œil!
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought it was a mannequin and a window display. It is the latter, of course. I don't think I would have liked those clothes.
ReplyDeleteIt's a nice one. I'm sitting here wondering what it would be like to wear something like that. Not very comfortable I'm guessing.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done Ciel, tres Versailles oui!
ReplyDeleteYou know I always love a trompe-l’œil...
ReplyDeleteIt has quite a three dimensional feel to it.

ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful trompe-l'oeil. From the first photo I was sure this was a dress on a mannequin, your second photo gives it all away.
ReplyDeleteIt really is a lovely mural.
ReplyDeleteC'est beau.
ReplyDeleteI love this sort of artwork. Looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteTrès charmant. Versailles has absolutely the most sophisticated looking murals. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
