Last Sunday was the Versailles highlight of 'Goûts d'Yvelines' (or 'tastes of the Yvelines', the Yvelines being the administrative département of which Versailles is county town). Tents popped up outside Saint-Louis cathedral and inside those stalls was a bit of foodie heaven with information, demonstrations, workshops and sale of vegetables, dairy produce, poultry, coffee, tea, jam, cup and various other cakes as well as cooking advice and recipes... Everything was local to the département. More to come in the following days (but VDP is sure you had already guessed that!)
Such a beautiful setting to be having a bite to eat in too!
ReplyDeleteMr. Carrot should be on the watch for any smark aleck rabbits.
Wasn't sure he was a carrot or a chili. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's a fine-looking carrot! And the display area looks great - I love the high-peaked tents. It looks like a Toronto crowd with almost everyone wearing black!
ReplyDeleteBut we are not the capitol of Canada. ;-))
Interesting to see a carrot! lol
ReplyDeleteDid you say food! I hope there will be dessert.
ReplyDeleteon Sunday, my school is having a fair. praying it will be good weather like your photo. Sorry for not visiting you for such a long time. Been involved with other things.
ReplyDeleteThese events are a lot of fun. I just missed one down here, but there will be others.
ReplyDeleteFunny costume! :) very cool!
ReplyDeleteOh superbe! Ce genre de demonstrations est toujours passionnant avec des idees que l'on garde en memoire un certain temps sans pour autant les essayer le plus souvent mais qu'importe. Peut-etre nous livreras-tu quelques secrets...
ReplyDeleteA very interesting event and a eye-catching carrot!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun.
ReplyDeleteI must say, I've never seen a carrot man.
'Carrotman' looks like a real superhero!
ReplyDeleteVeggies are cool.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun occasion but, I'm not so sure about the walking carrot.
ReplyDeleteBeware the masked carrot :) Fun pics ahead methinks :)
ReplyDeleteNothing like an enthusiastic carrot to brighten your day. It almost resembles a Christmas Fair.
ReplyDeleteThat's great. I think all attendees should come dressed as their favorite vegetable. It would be very revealing.
ReplyDeletePlutôt original ce Mr Carotte .... j'attends la suite avec impatience !
ReplyDeleteil va se faire rapper
ReplyDeleteLooks like a very fun event although I would balk at having to walk around in a carrot costume. This guy looks a little leery, as if Bugs Bunny is going to hop out and grab him any minute!
ReplyDeleteI hope that carrot costume was easier to walk in than it looks!
