Lee Ufan

Lee Ufan Versailles
Most of you know that VDP was injured this spring and couldn't really walk that much. A couple of weeks before the end of this year's palace exhibition, on 18 October to be precise, she finally went to have a look at Lee Ufan's exhibits in the gardens. The arch VDP thought framed the palace very nicely but she remained nonplussed at the sight of the other exhibits... What do you think? The exhibits are visible until 2 November.

And finally, 'Relatum, Dialog X', with the arch in the background.

VDP admits that she did not go in search of more exhibits...

  1. Perhaps a little too modernist for my taste. The arch reminds me of St. Louis' arch.

  2. That's the first thing I thought of, too, William.

  5. The arch is quite attractive and makes a nice frame. I bet Bob from St. Louis will enjoy seeing the arch and comparing it to his. I have to agree with you on the others.

  6. You have used the arch to great effect! Very cool shots. I agree with William, though. And the rest...well, not too great. Looks like a nice day - what a great sky!

  7. More than the arch, I'm interesting in hearing whether you've fully recovered. I hope so.

  8. Lee Ufan, artiste, écrivain et philosophe: he still has two lines of work left...

  10. I'm glad you can now get out and about, Ciel, but I'm not a big fan of this art. Maybe I need to be THERE to appreciate it more.

  13. I got a little annoyed at the arch when I was there in July because I didn't like it being in the way when I was taking pictures. When my daughter and I walked under it though, she noticed the acoustics. She stood inside one end and I stood inside the other. Then we whispered to each other as quietly as we could. The echo made our voices sound as if we were standing right next each other. It reminded us of Statuary Hall in the US Capitol.

  14. Great shots, Ciel! Why I am thinking of Bob's St. Louis DP? ;-)
