These pictures were taken on 7 August, between two heavy rainfalls. On that day, Llandudno Daily Pictures wondered if the rowan tree VDP was showing was a sign of autumn... Our chestnut trees, like the ones in Paris, are diseased and turn this ugly brown very early so yes, there has been a bit of autumn in the air already... There's a nice promise of chestnuts though!
If you look closesly, there's a rowan tree on the left and the chestnut tree on the right in the above photo.
Seems way too early for autumn.
ReplyDeleteYour chestnut tree looks different from our trees which are Asian after most of our native ones died 100 years ago. So sad to see your trees like that.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, you're looking autumn square in the face right about now.
ReplyDeleteSeems early to me too. That first shot is so beautiful with all of the color.
ReplyDeleteAutumn is very early here too, I think its about 3 to 4 weeks early. Maybe down to the good summer. Blackberries have been ready to pick for about 2 weeks and the hazel nuts and sloes are ready as well. Lets hope its a a long autumn and not a long winter.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures and yes I think it will be an early autumn here as well
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, rich colours. We have started to have lots of heavy showers here too, after what's been a mostly very dry and warm summer!
ReplyDeleteY'en a marre de toutes ces maladies...
ReplyDeleteProfitons, profitons de tout ce que l'été peut encore nous offrir aux yeux et savourons.
Our chestnuts are turning too. I don't want summer to be over yet!!!!
ReplyDeletei'm starting to see a few signs here too...not ready for it!
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of sad that these beautiful trees have a disease that makes them turn brown way too early. In spite of that, you've captured the colors beautifully. They really are very pretty trees.
ReplyDeleteYikes, the leaves don't look good, but the chestnuts look OK. Definitely looks like fall.
ReplyDeleteI think the seasons are misbehaving all over the world Ciel.. but yet somehow even when as you say your chestnut trees are diseased, they still manage to look tres belle.. how is that :)
ReplyDeleteIt does look a bit like autumn and I don't like it one bit! We are supposed to have a cooler and wetter than normal September here. But a warmer October.
ReplyDeletepas de marron en aöut ça me perturbe
ReplyDeleteI hate to think chestnut trees are sick in France! They have almost been obliterated here, sad to say. Well, we have horse chestnut trees but that's NOT the same thing at all.
ReplyDeleteOh, schon Herbst bei dir !?
ReplyDeleteDie Fotos gefallen mir sehr gut!
It might be a disease but the colours are gorgeous! Don't remind me of autumn, you probably know how much I hate the season that comes next... LOL!
