This building (which incidentally is rather nice don't you think?) located on Pershing street in Picardie neighbourhood has always intrigued VDP. There are lots of CCTV cameras everywhere and no identification signs... VDP asked around and one of her faithful versaillais readers came up with this: it's very hush-hush, possibly something to do with NATO... Whatever the case may be, VDP has always liked the rider on the gate!
They were probably taking your photo and know where you live by now. Big brother is watching.
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah! There's a building near me bristling with cameras and that has every window covered with shades around the clock. Better not to ask questions. ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful building, whatever it is.
ReplyDeleteThe espionage writer in me is saying DGSE safehouse.
Good grief! Half of it is older than Methuselah and the other half is CIA modern. You betcha there's lots of dark deeds going on in there...and I'll bet the USA is in the thick of it. :)
ReplyDeleteThe rider in the gate is just plain weird!
Have a great day on Thursday!
I agree with Lowell, weird to be sure!!! I hope no one shows up on your door with weird questions!! Great shots though, as always!!
ReplyDeleteI think Lowell may be right! You are lucky that you weren't arrested!
ReplyDeleteThe gate and the building are both gorgeous. I love a good mystery. I'd like to think that mysterious top secret things go on inside.
ReplyDeleteIt really is a beautiful building.
ReplyDeleteNo guard at the gate, only the horse and rider?
ReplyDeleteI love a good mystery (house).
A beautiful building, looks like a castle.
ReplyDeleteI like the rider on the gate!
If you find out more, be sure to let us know. It is a nice-looking place and that rider is cool! I've never seen anything like it. :)
ReplyDeletesi tu donnes les bases de l'OTAN ....
ReplyDeleteLovely building, thankfully, they are taking good care of the place. That's a great gate.
ReplyDeleteLooks like something out of a fairytale!
ReplyDeleteRe your comment on Ocala: I love the phrase, "very Versailles." Maybe you could write a song with that title?
ReplyDeleteOne verse could go like this:
The homes are all so beautiful
The trees reach to the sky,
I get lost in all the loveliness,
It's so very Versailles.
OK? You do the rest and the music.
hmmmmm wonder what the deal is?!! i love that rider!
ReplyDeleteEchelon! NSA!
ReplyDeleteI love the rider in the gate and the building is gorgeous. Or neat or whatever but I really like the gate. MB
ReplyDeleteIt makes me think of Bletchley Park (and the enigma machines).
ReplyDeleteMost intriguing! I do think this is a rather handsome building and really do love that gate!
ReplyDeleteWell, now you've got me wondering! Hmmm.
ReplyDeleteSometimes its best not to know the details Ciel, just to enjoy the details :)
