You have seen these murals on electrical enclosures before. This cute one, celebrating le goûter or the small meal children eat around 4 p.m., is located outside Anne-Marie Boivin day nursery. VDP tried to find information about Anne-Marie Boivin and isn't sure that this link actually refers to the person whom the nursery is named after. Whatever the case may be, it seems that Versailles born midwife and obstetrician Mrs Boivin (1773-1841) was quite a woman... She invented a new pelvimeter, as well as a vaginal speculum and the medical textbooks that she wrote were translated to different languages and used for 150 years. Monday Mural is this way!
I like the design of the mural. And the nursery looks like a pleasant place.

ReplyDeleteGreat!
ReplyDeleteI am short of words today. MB
Kudos to Ms. Boivin! And I appreciated learning about le gouter. Glad my kids didn't know about it, though. They ate enough the way it was. :)
ReplyDeleteSweet image probably based on an advertising poster, don't you think? Didn't know about l'heure du goûter prior to your post. Would "goûter" translate to "snack"? Thanks, Ciel, for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
ReplyDeleteJ'adore the poster Ciel, it looks like the copy of the vintage poster I have in my kitchen.. Looks like quite a modern infant school.
