This room at the palace has been preserved in its original 1672 state. 'Modest Venus', a.k.a. 'Medici Venus', by Balthazar Keller, stands in the middle of this room that once housed the palace police.
Modest Venus, eh? ;-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, maybe not modest, but who cares!! A terrific capture, as always, Ciel!! Enjoy your weekend!!
ReplyDeleteIt is a magnificent room.
ReplyDeleteOh la, more Medici than modest, but sumptuous all the same! That is a gorgeous room, lucky police. (I'll happily trade weather with you!:)
ReplyDeleteI love that first shot! The floor really adds an interesting perspective.
ReplyDeleteQuite a place, Ciel.
ReplyDeleteUn tout petit peu moins discrete que celle de Boticelli... :-) si on compare.
ReplyDeleteThat has to be the grandest 'Police Station I have ever seen ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful place... mais où sont les hoquetons ?!
ReplyDeletethis is a regal and beautiful place. thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOh boy, this makes me want to return quickly and see more of the Palace. I feel that we missed a lot on the "tour."
ReplyDeleteI don't remember this room specifically but it is gorgeous! And the statue is beautifully done. How would the castle police get anything done in here?
Hope you're on the way to a beautiful weekend!
Makes a person want to get arrested!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely!

ReplyDeleteLove the effect of the first image and the composition of the second one!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful statues. I like the design on the floor too.
ReplyDeleteI love the floor. You always find that kind of tile in "royal places". I may have to use it as inspiration when we build our kitchen and bath!
ReplyDeleteThis place is so magical!
ReplyDeleteWonderful and elegant are the words!
happy weekend,
Léia
