Mariée

Should this young lady who was getting ready to take her wedding photos on Avenue de Saint-Cloud really marry? There's that 'stop' sign right behind her! This cool scene was caught by Dominique Daudon who kindly sent me the photo to publish. What's happening to me? A photo of a person without her consent and without blurring the face???

  1. Haha, I like your take on the implications of that stop sign:) Love the photo (and thanks to Dominique) - it might not be what you'd normally do, but it's great slice-of-life street photography. (There's an interesting NYTimes article on street photography & privacy - so many sides to the debate! http://lens.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/04/23/paris-city-of-rights/)

  6. I like this one, Ciel. Compliments to your photographer friend.

At least in the USA, non-commercial use of the images of people who are out in public is just fine. No idea about French law. I have always thought your approach is very conservative, but if that is what makes you comfortable, . . .

And, yes, on Monday the temperatures here were about 24 Celsius. By this weekend it will be 29 - 33 Celsius.

  17. Very nice shot. Her red jacket really stands out with the white wedding gown. I guess anyone's feelings about marriage depends on their level of cynicism regarding such unions. Although, from my perspective, I think it is usually a better deal for the male than the female.

  18. Hard to miss! The stop sign goes well with the jacket... or the other way around!

  19. She's lovely but should she or shouldn't she? Hmmm. The privacy issue is like discussing religion or politics, there's no clear answer.
