Built in 1673-1674 to plans by François d'Orbay, this is a good example of the manorial townhouses built around the palace in the XVIIth century. This particular mansion was the home of the lord chancellor of France, also keeper of the seals. Altered, it has been the regional academy of music since 1953. More often than not when you walk by it on a Saturday, you can hear music being played by the pupils...
Lovely place and a great Autumn capture for the day! Love peeking through the colorful leaves!! Hope you have a fun week, Ciel!!
ReplyDeleteIt has a special magnificence. Tell me, does the music sound professional that you hear when you walk by?
ReplyDeleteI love the framing with the leaves. :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely autumn scene - I can almost hear that beautiful music. (I love that Wikipedia links the "keeper of the seals" title to the Minister of Justice - sounds so romantic:)
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to be able to hear the music seeping from it!
ReplyDeleteThen it would be a worthwhile walk, but would anything more recent than Rameau sound good in there?
ReplyDeleteThat would be the place for an evening walk. Even I figured out what conservatoire means!
ReplyDeleteNicely framed shot.
ReplyDeleteMaintenant le garde des sceaux habite place Vendome...c'est pas mal non plus.
ReplyDeleteDes teintes qui vont bien avec les bâtiments.
ReplyDeleteLovely glimpse of Le Conservatoir Ciel, a very elegant building..how wonderful to hear the music as you pass by.
ReplyDeleteI was betrayed at first by the keeper of the seals, but looking at the kind of building I quickly steered away from zoos...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful view of the building through the autumn leaves. I can almost hear the music...
ReplyDeleteI would love to hear the music as I passed by!
ReplyDeletei feel as though i am standing there peeking through the leaves :)
