The building is quite different that our elementary schools here. The mural is a delight and very well done and I'd guess it's meant to be a feel-good picture for kids to look at as they arrive at school. I'll bet it works, too!
I think it is wonderful when the walls of schools are decorated with murals like this - so colorful and pleasing to the eye! And perhaps, an early start to art appreciation for the young ones. Nice find!
This is a sweet mural that put a smile on my face as soon as I saw it. Then I thought, "Hey, she found another one." Quite a feat in Versailles. I like the trompe l'oeil quality of this image. I think murals on school yards stir the imagination. And watching the muralist work must also be fascinating to young minds. Thanks, Ciel, for contributing to Monday Mural.
Am I going to be banished forever from blogland if I take a contrarian view and say this mural intended for kids leaves me a bit cold...? For me it lacks fun, joy, life... Of course any mural is better than no mural, and I'm glad you found another one for our mural meme... :-)

ReplyDeleteIt looks like a window into another place, if not another world. The unattended football looks lonely.
