Square des Chantiers

Square des Chantiers playground. Those who have been following VDP for a while know that June is Molière month, honoring the great playwright with a great many theatrical events all over the city. On 17 June, I decided to check out a couple of them. When I arrived at the first venue, nothing, the gates were closed. I had a look at the programme and came to this square. Nothing either. I don't know what happened, why the plays were cancelled even though for once, it wasn't raining... I had intended to try again yesterday but the pouring rain and the cold got the better of me...

  2. That is strange! Wonder what happened?? Great shot of the park! Sorry to hear you're having weather like the Seattle, although it is very nice today, warm, not hot, lovely skies and puffy clouds, but who knows what tomorrow will bring???? Have a great week regardless of the weather though, Ciel!

  3. Sounds like someone goofed! Nice playground, though. Sorry about the rain and the cold. It's not cold here, but it's raining, raining, raining. We've had almost 3 inches so far and will probably double that by Wednesday. We're getting pounded by Tropical Storm, soon to be Hurricane, Debby which is expected to land north or us and head northeast.

No real problem, except possible tornadoes. Yikes! But that's what you get for living in Florida!

  9. Maybe the players had all been reading The Misanthrope and decided the audience wasn't worth their bother. Lovely picture, by the way.

  10. Maybe it has been raining so much that the promoters didn't have any confidence that the weather would be good enough. Bummer.

  12. Well, you got a photo, and a story, so the day wasn't completely wasted, but it's too bad about the plays.

Keep us posted about the plays.

Love the way all of the visual interest is centered in this photo and the greenery frames the photo. Another fabulous post, as usual!

  18. Have you figured out who goofed? Whatever happened to "the show must go one"? The kids don't seem to mind... Hope your summer weather has improved. I'm basking in the balmy 30C+ in Manila...

  20. How very strange. It seems that there would certainly be quite a few people there to celebrate Moliere. Did you see anyone else waiting around?
