Le village au XVIè siècle

This is Versailles in the days before king Henri IV as seen by Olivier Pâques and Jacques Martin. Historical comic authors usually do a lot of research so this might just be what it looked like in the 1500s. But no, these aren't mountains in the background, merely clouds!

Versailles avant Henri IV, vue par Olivier Pâques et Jacques Martin. Et non ce ne sont pas des montagnes, juste des nuages !

  1. Brilliant. This must be an incredible exhibit to view. Looking at historic views of cities, towns and villages is always a challenge to find what is the same, what has changed and what may actually remain.

  10. Great. For me Breugel's paintings always capture that moment in medieval life.
