This is Versailles in the days before king Henri IV as seen by Olivier Pâques and Jacques Martin. Historical comic authors usually do a lot of research so this might just be what it looked like in the 1500s. But no, these aren't mountains in the background, merely clouds!

Brilliant. This must be an incredible exhibit to view. Looking at historic views of cities, towns and villages is always a challenge to find what is the same, what has changed and what may actually remain.
ReplyDeleteEin gelungenes Kunstwerk. Mir fehlen Wolken. Einen guten Dienstag dir.

ReplyDeleteI can't even imagine Versailles looking like this Ciel, but everything had to start somewhere oui!
ReplyDeleteThis comic takes what could be a plain scene and turns it into such a colorful piece of art.
ReplyDeleteSi calme, si petite, si scénique, si majestueuse!
ReplyDeleteEt le ciel bleu est incroyable! ;)
