Théâtre Montansier

I am slightly ashamed that it took me over three years to show you the façade of Versailles' theatre where you can enjoy an eclectic variety of shows from classic or modern plays to jazz or classical music. The website is this way. Created by Mademoiselle Montansier, the theatre was inaugurated on 18 November 1777 with Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette in attendance. It has undergone almost constant renovation since 1834. In 1992, the original structure of wood and plaster was sinking into the marshy soil as the wooden pillars rotted and was rebuilt in concrete. At the end of the XXth century, it was directed by Francis Perrin, a famous French actor and native of Versailles.

Je rougis un peu d'avoir mis plus de trois ans à vous montrer le théâtre Montansier dont la programmation est très variée. Le site web c'est par ici. Le théâtre, créé par Mademoiselle Montansier, fut inauguré le 18 novembre 1777 en présence de Louis XVI et de Marie-Antoinette. Il est actuellement dirigé par Jean-Daniel Laval qui a succédé à Francis Perrin, versaillais de naissance. En 1992, la salle fut rebâtie en béton armé du fait que la structure d'origine s'enfonçait dans le sol marécageux où les poteaux pourrissaient.
