I'm a native English speaker, of course, with a halting knowledge of French. Still, it seems odd to me that your signs for these shops usually say "pressing" in English (is there a French cognate?), but that's only the secondary activity they do there. But then the dummies who run half the restaurants in this country say entrée on the menu when they should say main course or plats principaux.
Bonne question!
Thank you for visiting and leaving a thought! Sorry about the moderation, a bit tired of spam at the moment!

ReplyDeleteInteresting old sign. Love the arrow pointing the way..just in case customers aren't sure where the shop is located. : )

ReplyDeleteWhat a find, I love old signs and it's attached to a neat building.
ReplyDeleteI like the old 60s sign the best, although it could use a bit of renovation. The rust doesn't help a dry cleaning shop. :-)
ReplyDeleteI like how you've framed this shot.
