Mirabelles et myrtilles
Fruit stall inside Notre-Dame covered market. On Saturday, I bought these blueberries and mirabelle plums from Lorraine. Deeeelicious! Samedi, je me suis laissée aller à ces douceurs aux Halles Notre-Dame...
I wonder if the fruit tastes different from ours. It's peak season for local produce here. I'm sure there will be a few tasty bits left by the time we get to France. Sixteen more days.
Wow! Ciel, this is just one of the best photos I have seen. Love those blueberries, so fat and ripe, and the fruit stand is simply fantastic. I remember those outdoor fruit stands so well, and wish I were there now to sample some of this wonderful fruit. Just the very best, isn't it?
AH ! Que ma Lorraine me manque ! Mon mirabellier ne va pas me donner une seule mirabelle cette année et mon pied de myrtillier (des bluets en réalité) a dépéri car ne supporte pas le calcaire !
Julie and I were at the Getty Center in Los Angeles yesterday, and they are finishing a special exhibition titled "Paris: Life and Luxury." It is a collection of paintings, furniture and decorative arts, mostly from the 1700's, from various museum collections. It was extremely popular. If fact, too popular and too crowded.
Of course you can see Versailles any day you want,
Oh YUM!!! I love yellow plums and of course Blueberries. Ours are just ripening in the garden. In fact just had some, from last year, on my morning cereal. MB
I am so very jealous! I have yet to stop by one of the several fruit stands that I pass on my way home from work EVERY DAY. What is my problem anyway? I should do that tonight. Mmm.....fresh peaches. :)

ReplyDeleteThose blueberries look gigantic and how I love them! I don't recall that variety of plum, but I'll be on the lookout.

ReplyDeleteI bought some greengages last week, but they weren't as tasty as they looked! Your choices look very good though... hope they taste that way too. :)
ReplyDeleteI cannot tell you how good this all looks. We simply cannot get good fruit in our stores. Everything tastes like cardboard! Very frustrating!

ReplyDelete@ Doug: this is Versailles Daily Photo :-) so this is Versailles covered market!
