I've always wanted shutters, somehow they seem to look a bit romantic, I think Magpie might be right Ciel, when the shade moves over the other shutter will be opened I think!!
That IS a coincidence about the Ozarks. I can tell you they are very scenic (though molehills compared to the Alps!) I love shutters, wish I had some - they're far superior to flimsy blinds in my opinion!

Ok.. 17th century town is young town by European standards ! Wow ... and I think 300 years of history brings out a lot of character in a town !
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the windows belong to different occupants and how much this open/close tells us about them.
ReplyDeleteI love these vintage windows.
ReplyDeleteI love the old build, shutters and that detail at the top of the windows.
ReplyDeleteWe just normally don't have shutters which we can open and close around here....
ReplyDeleteIt's a little scary. The shadow looks like a squared-off person with arm raised, holding a gun. Maybe just my feverish imagination.
ReplyDeleteIt is often said that opposites attract. I revere shots like this!!
ReplyDeleteThe details above the windows are beautiful. Maybe the sun is still too warm to open the other set of shutters. :)

ReplyDeleteI wondered what the shadow on the open window is too...made me think of Samothrace!
ReplyDeleteI think this window is blinking! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend,
Léia
Ouvert-fermé, ombre-lumière,accueillant ou pas..un joli thème, et une magnifique lumière sur ces fenêtres..
ReplyDeleteWhite shutters are always elegant, these also have a interesting decoration above.

ReplyDeleteWindows... shuttered or open are charming.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteCool sot of the open and closed shutters. And I like the shadow on the left too.
ReplyDeleteVery cool shot, Ciel. Open and shut - I like that!!
