Another participation in Rob and Mandy's Food for Thoughts! This was lunch at le Petit Marquis restaurant, pretty good value for money. The building began its life in 1667 as a public writer's place, a wine dealer took over in 1686. Smoked hake, hake with ratatouille 'à la niçoise', three veg terrine, fried squid, Camembert cheese, lemon tart and a glass of red Brouilly!

This looks so good. I have not been there.
Oh, Lord, don't do this to me! The pastries look amazing, as does the restaurant. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'll take the cheese and the lemon tart, thank you. You can keep your fried squid. Lol!
ReplyDeleteThis is one thing I LOVE about Europe - the old buildings turned into beautiful modern places, but with the ambiance of classy eras gone by. Lovely.
Sounds yummy, but what to drink? A glass (or two) of fine French champagne I hope!
ReplyDeleteLemon tart! Sign me up.
ReplyDeleteSure, I'll have some. We expect a change for the better in food standards when we come visit. You won't find a combination like this here at good value or bad.
ReplyDeleteYou had me at the cheese and lemon tart! It all looks good. I think I gained a few pounds just by looking at it.
ReplyDeleteInteresting! I just had quick fried calamari made with ginger and soy at the Elephant Bar..so tender, and delicate. The atmosphere looks nothing like the Petite Marquis restaurant which is so elegant! Lovely bottles pictured with the menu...Merci!
ReplyDeleteI had just determined that I was done with dinner and would not do dessert...until I saw your pictures! :)
ReplyDeleteThats looks really good. I would need a nice walk after allthat .

ReplyDeleteYummy photos! Looks like I missed another delicious lunch! Zut!
ReplyDeleteMmmm...delicious! And what a terrific bit of history...1600s (pour americains) is ancient!
ReplyDeleteIl y a l'air d'avoir de bien bonnes adresses dans ton coin!
ReplyDeleteYummyyyyy you are making me so hungry.
ReplyDelete@ Woody: red wine. Cliché?
ReplyDelete@ Alain: je ne sors jamais seule... :-)
@ Bergson : tu viens quand tu veux !
Delicieux, tout ca! Desole d' avoir arrete Food for Thoughts. On verra
ReplyDeleteRegarding you comment about the fog: I like Wanderer above a Sea of Fog. Similar but more trees here. That could be me only standing on my deck. Maybey my hair could be flowing in the wind---no I cut it all off. Don't ask why!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you know all these things so you can educate me. MB
Looks YUMMY!!
ReplyDeleteOne only glass? :-D
