Food For Thoughts: au Petit Marquis

Another participation in Rob and Mandy's Food for Thoughts! This was lunch at le Petit Marquis restaurant, pretty good value for money. The building began its life in 1667 as a public writer's place, a wine dealer took over in 1686. Smoked hake, hake with ratatouille 'à la niçoise', three veg terrine, fried squid, Camembert cheese, lemon tart and a glass of red Brouilly!

  4. I'll take the cheese and the lemon tart, thank you. You can keep your fried squid. Lol!

This is one thing I LOVE about Europe - the old buildings turned into beautiful modern places, but with the ambiance of classy eras gone by. Lovely.

Sounds yummy, but what to drink? A glass (or two) of fine French champagne I hope!

  7. Sure, I'll have some. We expect a change for the better in food standards when we come visit. You won't find a combination like this here at good value or bad.

  10. Interesting! I just had quick fried calamari made with ginger and soy at the Elephant Bar..so tender, and delicate. The atmosphere looks nothing like the Petite Marquis restaurant which is so elegant! Lovely bottles pictured with the menu...Merci!

  26. Regarding you comment about the fog: I like Wanderer above a Sea of Fog. Similar but more trees here. That could be me only standing on my deck. Maybey my hair could be flowing in the wind---no I cut it all off. Don't ask why!
I am glad you know all these things so you can educate me. MB
