The hotel is located near the palace on the site of the former artillery riding school under Napoléon the 3rd. See the reflected gate here in one of VDP's earliest posts.

L'hôtel se situe tout près du château et a été construit sur le site des anciens manèges d'artillerie de Napoléon III. Plus d'infos dans un des tout premiers billets de VDP.

Wow this place looks very modern compared to the rest of Versailles
ReplyDeleteModern, but I like it!!!
ReplyDeleteEn fait Mr Pullman et Napoléon III se sont même peut-être croisés dans leur vie!
ReplyDeleteLike how the warm light from the inside is so welcoming! :-)
ReplyDeleteIt looks much more elegant than the place my family stayed in on the one occasion we stopped in Versailles. It was the Mercure. The rooms were adequate but busload after busload of noisy tour groups unloaded beneath out windows when we were trying to sleep. I also remember that there was a shopping center across the streets that had one of those Hippopotamus restaurants, which the kids thought was just fine.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fancy place.
ReplyDeleteVery modern and elegant. I think I'd like to stay there, it's very inviting.
ReplyDeleteNice looking place and I love the reflection from 2009.
ReplyDeleteI like the pop of red from inside. Modern inside a "traditional" building is a stunning contrast.
ReplyDeleteil en jette, on a envie de rentrer eau garde à vous
ReplyDeleteThere's a warm, welcoming glow coming from inside...
ReplyDeleteI love this doorway and to think it is a hotel at the site of a former riding school. Very cool!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are back and now I am back too. MB
Oh la la, elegant.
ReplyDeleteThat looks swish and very swanky. xxxx
ReplyDeleteIdéal pour un 5 à 7.
ReplyDeleteI'll keep this in mind for my next stay in Versailles!
ReplyDeleteJ'aime la chaleur qui se degage de l'interieur, si attirante quand on voit la pluie dehors..
ReplyDeleteThe red lights are drawing me in.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful entrance, very elegant!

Such a wonderful addition to Versailles. Now, they just need to fill the lobby with YOUR photos! You are bringing Versailles to the world. As a matter of fact, maybe they should give you a commission for each guest who says, "I learned about you through Versailles Daily Photo." I'm onboard!
ReplyDeleteC'est trés cher, n'est-ce pas?!
ReplyDeletePullman Hotels look much nicer than Pullman cars (the railroad sleeper berths on old trains in the USA).
ReplyDeleteLooks quite elegant and what a grand entrance!
ReplyDeleteI'd never heard of the Pullman Hotel chain until after we came back from Paris...we had stayed in the Hilton Paris (near the ET) and I learned that it has now been bought by the Pullman chain...
I like your use of color here, Ciel. It is something to learn from you - how you compose with color.
ReplyDeleteSharon
Love the warm bright colours inside. Great contrast. Happy 2011, Ciel.
ReplyDeleteune porte qui va bientôt fonctionner
ReplyDeleteça me fait bailler
Here in my part of the world, Pullman is a little college town a few hours north of the valley, and home to Washington State University. Right across the border in Moscow (pronounced moss-cow, not moss-coh like the Russian city) is the University of Idaho.
