So VDP is two years old. Who'd have thought it? To celebrate its second birthday, here's a homemade cushion I sewed, sporting a photograph that appeared on this blog on 10 September 2009. It measures 51x32 cm (20x12"). To win it, the rules are simple : leave a comment on this post before tomorrow 1 Feb. midnight (CET) and I will fish the winner's name out of a bowl!
Some restrictions do apply:
i) The winner recognises that I will need his/her full mailing address to send it off via La Poste;
ii) If you do not want to participate, in other words if you dislike the prize (!), please mention it in your comment, I won't be offended, lol!;
iii) Most importantly, as I am sure you will understand, I would like to reward those of you who regularly take time to comment on VDP. Hence only names that are known on VDP will be entered in the prize draw.
Best of luck everyone and thank you all for following VDP, whether anonymously or not!

i) le/la gagnant(e) reconnaît que j'aurai besoin de son adresse complète pour pouvoir le lui envoyer par la Poste ;
ii) si vous ne souhaitez pas participer, autrement dit si vous trouvez mon oeuvre affreuse (!), je ne m'en offusquerai pas mais dites-le dans votre commentaire ;
This is so beautiful I did not know you could sew.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your second year. I so look forward to your posts and comments everyday. Here is to year three! The prize is awesome by the way. It would be a nice addition to anyones home.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely and creative idea to 'reward' your faithful followers. Happy Blogoversary.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, congratulations on your two-year anniversary! I think I'm getting close but I can't remember when I got involved with all this "work"!
ReplyDeleteSecondly, yes, I have a "pass" for the Turnpike...saves oodles of time and a little bit of money. They call it a "Sunpass" in Florida and it is a small plastic thingy that attaches to your front windshield.
Thirdly, your cushion is gorgeous and you can bet that we would be thrilled to get our name(s) fished out of you bowl.
Have a wonderful week!
You have many talents! Sewing is one skill I never really mastered.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 2 years. You inspired me to check my blogging history. The first post on my old blog, was 7-Dec-09 and the photo pretty much sucked, but we all gotta take that first step.
I am not at all surprised to see this evidence of one more of your many talents.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Ciel. I hope you enjoy posting your photos of Versailles as much as we enjoy seeing them.
Congratulations! It takes discipline and dedication to keep a daily photo blog running for so long. The pillow is so beautiful I would hesitate to put my head on it. I'd leave it out somewhere, just for the pleasure of seeing it.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't forget, you are due a prize as well.
Congratulations on two years of daily photo blogging. I have enjoyed your blog from its beginning. You have shown that there is more to Versailles than the palace that is famous all over the world. Your pillow is very creative, beautiful, and skillful.
ReplyDeleteThinking about Versailles for a moment, I wonder how many palaces around the world were inspired to copy Versailles. In many places that we have travelled we have toured palaces that guides have said were the royal family's attempt to imitate Versailles. I wonder if someone has compiled a list of all of them.
ReplyDeleteOkay, so now I officially wish you a happy anniversary! Yours is a favorite of mine and I look forward to many more of your photographs. And wow, you stitched that pillow?! You are talented in other areas as well!
ReplyDeleteWell happy second anniversary as VDP. How clever you are to make something to celebrate.
ReplyDeleteIt is a cool pillow. MB
Félicigrats on two years. I enjoy my brief visits to Versailles - and the music.
ReplyDeleteLiving most of my 'active' life on a couch, I could really use a new cushion...
ReplyDeleteMazal tov. Happy birthday to dear Versailles Daily Photo!
ReplyDeleteA most unusual pillow!
Congratulations with 2 years of posting interesting and beautiful photos and text!
ReplyDeleteYou are a creative person with many talents.
So keep up the good work!:)
Greetings from Gunn / stavangerdailyphoto.com
Regarding the fisherman memorial: In Seattle at fishermans wharf in ballard there is a nice memorial with all the names of those who have gone down with their boats. My best friend since 2nd grade father's name is on that memorial. He was lost at sea when she was 4 yrs old. He went down on the Columbia Bar.
ReplyDeleteIt is a tough job. MB
Yahoooo! I want it, I want it! :))
ReplyDeleteHey chérie, congratulations!Your blog is wonderful and you are very creative in all you do.I'm learning a lot with you during this time, and keep doing this fabulous work with your job!

Congratulations! Isn't a blog year like the equivalent of a dog year??? So, perhaps you've been at it...oh...14 years or so? :) Seriously, I really enjoy your daily photos and accompanying text. I appreciate the amount of time you invest -- it's all terrific. As for your photo/pillow, what a clever idea! Very neat. I would be delighted to have the SRQ name pulled from the bowl. Upon arrival in Sarasota, said prize most assuredly would be featured on SDP.
ReplyDeleteCiel, you are one talented woman! Not only do you take fabulous photos but you sew as well!? Wow...I'd love to have it :-D
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary on your blog! Wishing you another wonderful year of photos!
Que de talents cachés! Que nous caches-tu encore?
ReplyDeleteBon anniversaire!
Joyeux aniversaire, mon amie! I enjoy your creative photos and the music on my visits here. Thank you for showing more of Versailles than what "the tourist" might see... I must make a journey out of Paris on my next trip.
ReplyDeleteFor the record, I love your pillow and can see that you are a person of many talents with a wonderful imagination!
Bises,
Genie
