Place d'Armes, le 16 janvier

Two statues, one the equestrian statue of Louis XIV pointing towards Paris, on 16 January with a not quite full moon. This was the day after yesterday's sunset!

  3. The first statue seems to be bathed in moonlight. And of course we now know Louis XIV was pointing at the moon, and not Paris at all. ;~)

  4. Love the mood of both shots.

However, I imagine the first has a baseball glove on his hand waiting to catch the moon.

  7. You had the benefit of a very clear sky that evening, didn't you? I wonder how many statues Versailles has . . . These two are wonderful.

  9. I love the moon being in both shots, the sky so blue. I'm reading "Les Miserables" - a rewrite by Jim Reimann. Such a different time.
