Anyone for a freshly roasted chicken? This is a bit of a household view in France, most butchers roast chicken for you. You can even buy it piping hot. I'm sorry that I won't be able to visit your blogs until tomorrow. Too busy. Conferring with Father Christmas and all that...
---------------------------
Je ne pourrai pas faire de tournée des blogs aujourd'hui. Trop de choses à faire et un rendez-vous important avec le Père Noël.
YUM! Tell Father Christmas I have been good. . . :o)
ReplyDeleteVery tasty post. I can almost smell the chicken. I like your shot from yesterday too. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteÀ cette heure-ci, volontiers!
ReplyDeleteMiam!
The warm red and yellow colors make me hungry!
ReplyDeletejuicy juicy chicken. i would love some for dinner tonight.
ReplyDeleteewok
I think I can smell the delicious aroma over here. :)
ReplyDeleteOur local grocery store has roasted chicken every day and I'm quite fond of them - very tasty.
ReplyDeleteFather Christmas??!! Really??!! Just kidding, I've already started decorating my office at work. One week from today starts 'shopping mall avoidance' month :-0
This is one of the rare times that French images look just like ours in the U.S. We have roasted chicken in our stores, too.
ReplyDeleteTake a little break from blogging if you need it, Ciel. We will wait for you to return.
La vie est une marche en avant bonne shopping; le poulet tourne dans un sens que j'aime.
ReplyDeleteYum! I'm just about to make dinner and wish I had stopped by a rotisserie :-) You have me intrigued about the lock, and I'm curious the typical cost in Euros one might pay for a piping hot chicken in Versailles.

PS-Father Christmas? Already? Now I'm feeling behind :-) (although I have my stamps and cards already, and a house on Whidbey reserved for the fam to enjoy Christmas week).

Do they deliver? Looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a tasty stop on your Christmas shopping. I'll email you my address (joking) :)
ReplyDeleteOh, yes they are meters and locks as you suspected in my photo :)
Whisper in Father Christmas' ear that I have been ever so good. Please!!!! MB
ReplyDeleteUmm I'm hungry just looking at this shot. I hope youve been good all year.
ReplyDeleteA chicken always tastes better this way.
ReplyDeleteThey are right keeping them behind lock and chain. :)
Not now, but I could consider this in a few hours! Say hello to Father Christmas...
ReplyDeleteJoli sujet ...
Is the butcher afraid the chickens will try to escape? Have fun baking. I hope it's a beautiful weekend to spend in the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteOui, j'aime le poulet roti.
ReplyDeletehahaha! Under lock and key. They look and, I bet, smell scrumptious!

Our favorite grocer, Publix, roasts chickens like this, also. They are quite good.
ReplyDeleteFather Christmas? You're funny!
Thanks for caring, Ciel. Denise is doing well; we're home; the sun is shining and I'm gonna play golf tomorrow!
Hope everything is good for you!
Yummy roast chicken!
ReplyDeleteSharon

ReplyDeleteSee you tomorrow, Ciel.

Rotisserie chickens are also popular in the US. They make for a quick dinner, although I don't eat chicken.
ReplyDeleteOur favourite meal in France is a roasted chicken from the market with potaotoes done under the meat. We have the roasted chicjens here in the UK but they are nowhere near as good. We were surprised to find one with its head still on (and uncerimoniosly shoved into another part of its anatomy!) this year in Normandy. xxxx
ReplyDeletetu as commande au pere noel: des poulets ;o)
ReplyDeleteTu seras bien gentille de lui dire que j'ai à parler avec lui, moi assi.....
