Today's doorway, admittedly shyly hiding a little behind a tree, is the Montbauron 'ludothèque', i.e. like a public library only lending games for children rather than books.
---------------------
What a fun idea-- a game library! My girls would undoubtedly be frequent visitors. I'd love to sit on those stone steps in the shade of that amazingly frilly tree!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I like this photo a lot...it's so well composed, and even if the door is partially hidden one can still see it is impressive.
ReplyDeleteI've not heard of such a library, but I think that's rather cool. I would imagine this includes video games...
This is a good idea! And what a tree, I like that the door is partially hidden.
ReplyDeleteVery graceful stariway leading up to the double doors.
ReplyDeleteThis image and the concept behind the library makes me smile. Thank you for showing us so beautifully and telling us about it.
ReplyDeleteThat's a wonderful idea - never heard of such a thing in the US. Except that now you can rent (not borrow) all the violent computer games you please.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice idea. I hope they are games like scrabble and monopoly.
ReplyDeleteIs that where the name for the game Ludo game from then? That was a favourite game when I was young.
ReplyDeleteHmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
ReplyDeletemmmmmmWHAT!??!
Lol MB!
ReplyDeleteA great building and a beautiful façade, even if hidden. The staircase is just perfect for a place like this. We have some 'ludoteca' and they work almost in the same way, but they are anything like this!
I really look forward to Wednesday doorway because your captures are so fascinating. Beautiful! I like the majestic steps leading to the door as well.
ReplyDeleteI especially like how you managed to capture the falling leaves.
ReplyDeleteGreat details on this building, but I really like the sweeping staircase pulling you up to the doorway.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of a 'ludotheque' before, but it's a great idea.
I like the stairway too. The tree is also a wonderful part of the picture. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful staircase and railings! Do you know what tree is that? The foliage looks great.
ReplyDeleteI love that tree! It's so green. And a nice doorway too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - I like it with the tree in front. I was totally surprised by the use of the building - it looks so historic and non-electronic. Lending games makes sense, but I hope they also learn the joy of reading. I've had fun with both.
ReplyDelete@ all: as a rule, they actually don't lend electronic or video games! Traditional children's games like Playmobil for instance. You know, the huge, huge, immense castle that's too big and expensive?! You can borrow it here. They also lend to creches and schools.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful location. The picture of the residence in Porchefontaine (I know, I'm late...) is also impressive!
ReplyDeleteGod bless you!
Cezar
Oui !
What a wonderful idea. I think I'll try to incorporate something like that in my community. Looks like that doorway is playing a bit of the hide and seek game itself.
ReplyDeleteLUCKY kids!
ReplyDelete«Louis» is a little late, but he didn't want to miss your always-interesting Wednesday Doorway...
ReplyDeleteLove those wide steps.
ReplyDeleteAnd what a canopy of leaves.
Such an inviting entrance. Love the idea of a ludotheque.
