Though nowadays not the main entrance of the Préfecture building (Versailles being the seat of the administrative department of "Yvelines", number 78 in the list of French departments), this is the grand courtyard entrance. More about the building when I show you general views, as it is in fact a particularly beautiful one.
--------------------------------------

At last something from Yvelines! I like these doorways, hope to see something more of this building.
ReplyDelete«Louis» looks forward to more!
ReplyDeleteThis is quite amazing for an administrative building. I also look forward to seeing more!
ReplyDeleteAhhh, so beautiful. Nice detail, beautifully framed shot. I want to see more.
ReplyDeleteVery stately-looking doorways. I feel like I must behave myself. ;-)
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, Ciel!
It’s that time of year again! I’m doing the rounds and apologising for my complete failure to more regularly offer comment on everybody’s incredible efforts for the year. I know how hard it can be to keep up with the daily grind of everyday posting, and want to thank you for your efforts.
ReplyDeleteI especially want to wish festive greetings for all from down here at [nearly] the end of the world, the bottom of Tasmania.
So, if you could delete whatever is not applicable, I’d like to wish you a very pleasant/merry/happy/wonderful/safe Amaterasu; Ashurall; Beiwe; Choimus; Christmas; Dazh Boh; Dongzhi; Goru; Hanukkah; Hogmanay; Junkanoo; Karachun; Koleda; Lenæa; Meán Geimhridh; Modranicht; New Years; Ras as-Sana; Rozhanitsa Feast; Şeva Zistanê; shōgatsu; Summer Solstice [if you're in the Southern Hemisphere]; Sviatki; Winter solstice [if you're in the Northern Hemisphere]; Yalda; Yule-tide; Ziemassvētki; and Коляда!
With a hearty three cheers from Kris, Jen, Henry and Ezra!
It does have an awfully nice balance of classic shape and ornament. I wonder if the bureaucracy inside does as well.
ReplyDeleteI like the faces above the doorways. I hope it means that the people inside have a pleasant disposition.
ReplyDelete@ Bob: lol, you've hit the nail...
ReplyDeleteI am looking foward to a beautiful series.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you.
ReplyDeleteLooks great. Any more shots?
ReplyDeleteI too look forward to follow this.....
ReplyDeleteYou have so many nice and interesting shots!
GOD JUL/ Merry Christmas from Gunn in Stavanger!
A lovely symmetry.
ReplyDeletePas facile d'acceder internet en ce moment, donc... Joyeux Noel Sam!
ReplyDeleteA lovely decorated doorway indeed! Joyeux Noel 'a toi, Sam!
ReplyDeleteIt has that perfect symmetry we so much admire. Looking forward to more details.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Very elegant!

Thanks for reminding me to get some photos of the whiteness of winter. I tend to go for COLOR! Your photos look so elegant-- very French.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Did you see the movie Coco before Chanel? I'd love for you to reply (on or off line) about your reaction!

Merry Nöel mon ami :)
ReplyDeleteSimple and elegant... a combination I like!
ReplyDeleteThe entryway and stairs are elegant in their simplicity. I like that you can see through the doorway and the other door/window behind it.
