These are the (Paris) suburbs trains at Chantiers train station. The silver ones are very old and the blue-white-red ones are modern!

Voici les trains de banlieue à la gare de Chantiers. Les "petits gris" sont bien vieux, alors que les tricolores sont modernes !

Not exactly the best trains you have in France (I love TGVs), but usually much better kept than ours.
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful. Now I can keep track of you! ;-))
ReplyDeleteYou are such a font of wisdom...before we come back to France, I'm going to have to pick your brain extensively!
I miss european trains. They are fast, effecient, and a bit romantic to me.
ReplyDeleteI like trains of any kind. Thanks for showing me these. I also enjoyed your post from yesterday with the cool reflection.
ReplyDeletenow you have me trying to remember the RER line we to from Paris to Versailles, C, perhaps.
ReplyDeleteNice monochromatic colors and the track shapes are really cool. I love European trains.
ReplyDeleteil y a encore ces vieux trains gris ;o) je croyais qu'ils avaient disparus, comme quoi la SNCF est très conservatrice ;o)
ReplyDelete@ DL: correct!
ReplyDeleteBelle photo sur les trains de banlieue.
ReplyDeleteI like the harmony of color and patterns in your composition, Ciel.
ReplyDeleteClever shot. You made the tracks interesting. MB
ReplyDeleteI miss the sound of trains. Their clacking wheels and plaintive whistles. Not much room for a railroad here. :)

We looked at some apartments in Berlin this weekend. We found a very nice one, but too close to the train. Although I like trains, I do not want to hear them in the night and the early morning. :)
ReplyDeleteAlways interesting places. Sure wish we had trains that actually went somewhere.
ReplyDeleteUne solennelle pensée pour les Versaillais qui s'entassent le matin dans un "petit gris" tels des boites de conserve. Je compatis les sardines.
ReplyDeleteBEautiful Train and lovely tracks !! I loved the shot !! Thanks for sharing..Unseen Rajasthan
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind a trip in those old cars. However, if it were to become an everyday thing I might want to change to the newer model...
ReplyDeleteVery nice.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy trains in europe much more than I do here, but that might change. I did a rail themed post too. :)
Well, if the train runs on time, who cares how old it is? We've taken the RER from central Paris on visits to Versailles and it's comfortable if you can get a seat.
ReplyDelete"Versailles-Chantiers"..
ReplyDeletecela voulait dire que l'on arrivait!!!
@ VP: yes. But the TGV between Versailles and Paris would be kind of pointless, I'm not even sure it would reach 300 km/h before it got there!
ReplyDelete@Catherine : te voilà bien charitable... ;-)
Cieldequimper, you made me laugh about Lewis & Clark. I've always been of the same opinion. However, being here on the spot, the details become a little more interesting.
ReplyDeleteoh makw me longing travelling .
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful train post, CQ. Perhaps we both have travel on our minds.
ReplyDeleteGood that Versailles and Paris are conveniently at a short distance by train, both places are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteGod bless you!
Cezar
There is something very romanatic about trains. Sadly it's all about cars here in Florida. We could use a good rail system. I remember traveling by train in Europe and always take a train here if it is an option.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a very busy place. I bet it's bedlam during rush hour!
