French cities are becoming increasingly bicycle friendly which is very cool. Versailles is no exception. I still think it's pretty scary...

First thanks for your comment, let's sell it!
ReplyDeleteI give you a part:-)
Bicycle is good! You have reason to be scared, me too:-)
You have a beautiful blog, I just love it!
I don't understand french, but my wife is a portuguese and french teacher.
I going to follow you to see more beautiful pictures.
Bonne journée!
Robert
Yeah, I don't know about riding on the streets so much since I'm back on a bike after many years. I'm glad we have the River Walk, which is safe. For some reason, I love the stuff they paint on streets. This one is good :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, scary to ride in real traffic.
ReplyDeleteWe did see a lot of bikes in Paris, although riding a bike, walking or driving in Paris is an adventure which often risks life and limb!
ReplyDeleteMore bike lanes will help. We need such desperately...and we're getting them, slowly but surely!
Hope your weekend is going well!
Bon dimanche!
I agree cool and kind of scary.
ReplyDeleteI was puzzled when I saw the thumbnail. Looking more closely, I thought it might be a conceptual piece about cycling in zero gravity.
ReplyDeleteI hope that isn't what I think it is and bicycles can travel in either direction in the same lane! Here, bicycles stay to the right if no lane is marked specifically for them but if they need a left turn, they are the same as a motor vehicle. Lots of bicyclists here.
ReplyDeleteOnce I was a serious cyclist. Now living within walking distance from work, traffic and endemic bike theft changed my mind.
ReplyDeleteGood for the bike riders. Love the street painting. The Northwest is a good example of a bike riding area. MB
ReplyDeleteAlthough I'd feel very scared to ride a bike on city streets, I think it's great that cities are becoming bike friendly.Apparently there re quite a few motorists in Toronto who don't like the idea but I think they've forgotten cities are for people and not cars. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI really like the street markings...very good shot, but your Weekend Reflections is spectacular. Wow, it's a stunning photograph.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting me at Tampa Daily Photo and leaving your comment. I appreciate it and hope you visit again soon
Cool street graphics. We have bike trails that wind along the Blackwater River Heritage Corridor. Pretty scenery and No cars allowed!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestion about linking to Newton. I've gotten some great responses. It was my first time linking to anyone! I'm still pretty new to blogging. Other than posting pictures, I get lost, but I'm learning. Keep the suggestions coming! :-)
Your images have been very graphic lately. So crisp and sharp. A little break from Versailles frilly and wonderful, as always!
ReplyDeleteI love riding bikes,,, but not around cars.
ReplyDeleteBeing a lover of le petite reine myself I hope more take to the bike for transport, it will help solve a lot of the traffic problems in our cities.
ReplyDeleteThe French have a historic love of the bike so it's great to see them coming back into use. These are fine photos too.
ReplyDeleteI love the crosswalks picture, Ciel. Great shot!
ReplyDeleteWhen I lived in Texas, I joined a bicycle club. It's a great way to ride and feel safer. Lots of bikes are easier to see for a driver than just one plus you have help if you have a problem.

ReplyDeleteAu revoir!
Léia
