We have a palace at Queluz, some kms inland, whose construction started in 1747 inspired by (so they say) the Château de Versailles. There is also this gourgeous pond with a Neptune statue! I have to go there and take some shots to show you! :-)

Ah ces jardins sont formidables. Et l'angle aussi
ReplyDeleteThat's a fine photo.
ReplyDeleteYou could take pictures on the grounds of the palace almost forever and not run out of subjects. The color and light in this picture is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteAmazing garden ! Neptune, the god of water and the sea in Roman mythology, stands there like a guardian of this Palace!
ReplyDeleteFabulous post!

ReplyDeleteAll these mythology themes--something we will never see in Israel. So thanks for sharing yours.
Lovely colors I enjoy this fountain.
ReplyDeleteGreat fountain, why the water is not running?
ReplyDeleteI can't help but think there must have been an army of artists working during construction.
ReplyDeleteTerrific.
ReplyDeleteTrès bel angle. Ce bassin est magnifique.

ReplyDeleteLove this shot! Looks like a poster I'd see in Madame Assardo's french classroom in high school! Bravo d'EAGAN!
ReplyDeleteI like your detail view a lot, especially the combination of colors with the blue-green of the metal trident against the water.
